I really like the first chapters, they were fun and entertaining and I was very excited about the bonds and relations all these characters were going to make. However I must admit I was a little disappointed when the second half of the book started and that's how I remained throughout the rest of it.
I hate when books use kids just to enhance a man’s personality and then they’re left aside so they don’t get in the way of the romance. And this book did that exactly. The kids got sent to California and by the time they came back I couldn’t even remember their names. It’s a shame because they were very cute and also a big part of why Austin couldn't pursue love or have a personal life was because of his great dedication to his children, and they weren't even there for half of the book.
I know this is a romance story and that’s the main focus but all the family interactions felt forced to me, in the end when Veronica talked about her concern and feeling for the kids or the new family she had found with them, felt very superficial.
All they thought about was sex, for me there was no falling in love phase and the last chapters were pure torture, all that miscommunication and love denial.
