Brendan and Meghan were step-siblings once, before their parents divorced, and have spent years since then quietly wanting each other. When Meghan needs somewhere to stay, Brendan offers a room — and living under one roof makes the feelings neither of them has admitted much harder to keep hidden.

Brendan has hidden his love for her for a long time and finds his self-control failing now that she is close by. Meghan admits her own feelings despite what they might cost. The book is billed as drama-free — no cheating, no third-act betrayal — and closes with epilogues set years later.
