I love Penelope, along with Sophie they have become my favorite characters in the Bridgerton series.
I loved the first half of the book, I've always seen a little bit of myself in Penelope and her wallflower status, so it was amazing reading how she starts to love herself, and how Colin starts to notice her and falls for her. All the people that protect her and love her.
What I didn’t like was the second half, the last scenes are great but I didn't enjoy Colin's ego and jealousy towards Pen's work and I would have liked to see more of the social repercussions of the big reveal at the ball or the reactions of their relatives, I feel that it was something important and it was not mentioned other than Anthony's.
Spoiler
Something that is not the author's fault was that I didn't get to experience the big reveal of Lady Whistledown being Penelope because I already knew it, but it seemed super strange to me the way she didn't want to include it in her thoughts until Colin discovers her, it didn't feel natural. It would have been incredible if Penelope herself had admitted it. I still enjoyed it, but I'm not going to lie, I think the plot they’re including in the Netflix series sounds more interesting, seeing Colin begging for Pen and it seems incredible to me that she gets another option in romance other than Colin.
