Synopsis

Scientists and engineers worldwide are in a high-stakes competition to create the first intelligent robot, machines that will act like living creatures. This book explores the implications of this technological leap, questioning whether humans and robots will become partners or rivals, or even meld into a new species, Robo sapiens. Featuring brilliant photographs of over a hundred robots, the book details the scientific race to build autonomous robots, including interviews with robotics pioneers and behind-the-scenes insights into these machines.
