Pacing : medium.
Story : barrington university is home to a secret society of the lords— powerful men, trained to control, restrain, serve and be loyal to each other. Lord, order, diety and ruler. They have rights, power, and control over certainty things and other things are out of their control, where they must obey their senior lords.
A chosen is a woman gifted as a price and a possession. I don’t even know if i’m correct 100 percent, but this is what I understood, which took me a bit of wracking my brain to understand.

Blakely is assigned to ryat in his senior year at the University, what starts as an assignment becomes more later. Ryat is forced to choose as his chosen, a chosen is a woman gifted to a lord, when he passes all the tough three trails of becoming a lord. Blakely is to be his chosen by another senior lord. Ryat chooses her just to spite matt, blake l’s ex, and make her his. But then, he soon realised that he’s falling for her, the woman he didn’t plan on becoming anything more.
Did i mention that the book is exploding with so many kinks, and the spice burn is 100% >>>
++ Points for ryat, when he captures matt, after he kidnaps blake, this man is obsessed, and unhinged, I f•••••• loved it, he knows that matt would hate the fact that blake couldn’t be his, so just to spite him, and make him pay for kidnapping his wife, ryat makes blake come in the car during the drive at the place matt is being held, the blackout club’s basement, and then he shoves those panties in matt’s mouth, and tells him that they are so wet, because their mixed come is on it. Lol, this man is my favorite. 🤭
He also loves drugging blakely.

Characters : i) blakely & ryat — i loved them both, especially ryat, the book started with a good start, and it was dragged in the middle, but the ending was worth it. Ryat was just the hero I loved. Blakely didn’t come off as weak, she was strong, didn’t give in to ryat, and only did when I would love her to.
Ryat was jealous, possessive, protective, over the top, annoyingly good, this man took a bullet for her, he was forced to take her as his chosen, but he made sure that blake did not fall into wrong hands. And matt’s torture, ugh, he and tyson delivered. I loved the story too, I was contemplating giving this book 3 stars, but then the ending and the characters grew on me, so yeah this book gets five stars. I loved it too much. Ryat is disturbing, with almost always drugging blake, and burning her clothes, which i didn’t mind. I loved this dark hero,welcome to my dark romance favorite heroes list.Tyson stood out for me, I want to read his story. Also, the queen LeAnne ma’am the plot twist, thankyou.
What I loved : the story, ryat, the plot, the writing, the many kinks, yeah thankyou.
What I struggled with : just in the middle of the story.

Strong character development :Not strong, but there’s character development yes.

Favorite quotes/ highlights :I was forced to pick her as my chosen, but she continues to choose my every day. And that is what I call heaven. Because life without her would be hell.

Any other details : this was my first book that was this dark, although I’ve read other books in the same genre, i enjoyed this book. I will keep reading other books in this series. There was a time when i hated dark romance, and maybe have never wanted to read this book, but after giving time to myself and healing myself, I have come to love this book, this book will live in my head for sure.
