Synopsis

Rise of the Fallen by Abhishek Krishnan is the first book in the Manwaan Series, a mytho-fantasy set in present-day Mumbai. It follows Rinad, a copywriter battling addiction and anxiety who learns he is meant to lead the Manwaan, half-celestial warriors defending humanity from Asuras escaping the Gates of Hell.

The novel reworks the age-old conflict of good versus evil through a contemporary Indian lens, weaving Hindu mythological figures, angels, and Rakshasas into an urban-fantasy thriller. Its concept of realized beings who unlock the supernatural through willpower gives the mythology a distinctly modern, psychological framing.

Published by NuVoice Press and distributed by Simon & Schuster India, the book was publicly launched in December 2023. It is aimed at readers who enjoy Indian mythological fantasy and urban supernatural adventure.
