Synopsis

The conclusion of a two-book story follows a powerful, ruthless older man and the much younger woman who has become the center of his obsession. He is a controlling magnate accustomed to conquering whatever he wants; she is the half-sister of his late wife, drawn into his orbit and into a battle for control of her own life and business. Having already collided as adversaries, the two now circle the question of whether what binds them is possession or something closer to love. He comes to believe his life is incomplete without her beside him, while she lets fear and the shadow of her dead sister govern her choices. The unease sharpens when she begins receiving packages seemingly sent by her late sister, carrying warnings of danger and leaving her unsure what is real and what is manipulation. As the romantic suspense plot tightens, old secrets surface and the threat moves closer to home, forcing her to decide whether to keep running or claim the place beside him that he insists is hers. Built on an age-gap dynamic and a morally-grey anti-hero, the book pairs an intense, possessive love story with a mystery thread, told from both leads' points of view, and resolves the duet's central conflict.
