Synopsis

Fia Riftborne has spent twenty years hiding a dangerous power in a city that hates and fears her kind. When her magic accidentally surfaces in public, the cold, exacting General Laryk Ashford gives her a brutal ultimatum: join his elite military unit or face execution for what she is.

Forced into training alongside soldiers who would kill her if they knew the truth, Fia has to master a power she barely understands fast enough to survive both the unit's trials and a dark force devouring the kingdom's borders. Her uneasy alliance with Laryk deepens as the missions grow more dangerous, and she has to decide how much of her safety, and her heart, she can risk trusting a man who holds her life in his hands.

The first book in the Esprithean Trilogy, Riftborne is a fantasy romance built around forced proximity, court and military intrigue, and a slow-burn bond forged under threat of death.
