What a contrast. Venli’s chapters were infuriating, and even Kaladin spent most of the book in a situation where it was not all that enjoyable to read (despite it being a very serious, nuanced take on mental health). But holy s••• did it stick the landing. Navani was the star of this book, and her relationship with the Fused was really something else.

Due to big changes in my life, it took me almost four months to finish this monster of a book; and surely there were times it felt like a drag, especially in the parts of Venli's POV, the flashbacks, and most of the time in Shadesmar. Nevertheless, it was a great journey and somehow more mature than the previous three books of the Stormlight Archive. Also, I think it was the first book that the cosmere connections became more apparent (although I need someone to fill me up about most of them, because I haven't read a lot of the other cosmere books).

I'll give it a little time to sink in before I delve in the fifth book.
