Synopsis

A retelling of the biblical story of Hosea set in the California gold country of the 1850s, Redeeming Love follows Angel, who was sold into prostitution as a child and has learned to expect nothing but cruelty and betrayal from men. Beautiful, guarded, and convinced she is beyond love, she survives by trusting no one and feeling as little as possible.

Then she meets Michael Hosea, a God-fearing farmer who believes he has been called to marry her. Michael's patient, unconditional love runs headlong into Angel's shame and terror, and again and again she flees back toward the only life she thinks she deserves. Slowly, painfully, his steadfastness — and a love greater than his own — begins to thaw her frozen heart.

One of the best-selling Christian novels of its era, Francine Rivers's Redeeming Love is a sweeping, emotional historical romance about shame, healing, and the transforming power of unconditional love.
