Recurve

Larkspur is a princess of the Elementals in name only. A half-breed, bastard child with no real power and a connection to the earth she calls worth next to nothing, she has never been welcome at her father the King's side.

When she is accused of attacking the queen, she is given a choice: banishment, or training as an Ender, one of the King's elite guards. She takes the training — and finds that surviving it is only the beginning, as she uncovers secrets that threaten the whole of her realm.

Recurve opens Shannon Mayer's Elemental series, a fast-paced fantasy of elemental magic, brutal training and court danger, set in the same world as her Rylee Adamson books.
