Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Evie Beckham has always been too busy with math, physics, and her own anxiety to bother much with dating, and she's always found the whole idea of kissing a little weird anyway. By senior year at Newton Academy, a prestigious STEM boarding school, therapy and her friends have made her braver, maybe even brave enough to enter the national math and physics competition, or flirt back with the charming new guy, Leo McGill.

Her best friend Caleb Covic has quietly loved her for years, and he's horrified to watch Evie's meet-cute with Leo unfold in front of him. Desperate and not thinking it through, he starts messaging Evie anonymously through an online forum, just to stay close to her somehow. It works far better than he expects.

Now Evie is falling for an anonymous voice online and for Leo at the same time, all while unable to imagine risking her friendship with Caleb by admitting there might be something there too. Told in alternating chapters from Evie and Caleb's perspectives, Amy Noelle Parks's YA rom-com is a smart, funny take on not knowing your own heart.
