Synopsis

Wine merchant Tony Beach usually prefers a quiet life, but his catering business plunges him into a dangerous world of counterfeit wine, hijacking, and murder. Dick Francis (1920–2010) was a British steeplechase jockey turned crime novelist. Born in Coedcanlas, Pembrokeshire, Wales, he served as an RAF pilot in the Second World War before becoming one of Britain's leading National Hunt jockeys, riding over 350 winners and serving as jockey to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother — most famously aboard Devon Loch, which collapsed within sight of victory in the 1956 Grand National.
