Prince of the Sorrows
Saffron is an enslaved human at Morrígan Academy, the high fey's seat of learning on the far side of the veil that separates their world from his. Without a patron among the fey, he'll be sent back to the human world he was traded from as a changeling infant, a place he's terrified of and barely remembers. He's taught himself to read from books stolen off campus, a crime that could cost him his tongue if he's caught.
When a case of mistaken identity leaves Saffron holding the true name of Prince Cylvan, the academy's brooding, self-absorbed heir, what should be a death sentence becomes his only leverage. He strikes a geis with Cylvan: help find a way to strip the power from his own true name, and Saffron gets the academic endorsement that keeps him in the fey world for good.
As the bargain deepens into something neither of them expected, human servants start turning up dead, killed by something known only as "the Wolf." Saffron realizes he's stumbled into a reach for power far larger than his own survival, and that even Cylvan may not be who he seems.
Morgan opens the Rowan Blood series with a dark, court-intrigue-heavy fantasy romance between a captive and the prince who holds his fate.
An enslaved, self-taught human at Morrígan Academy who bargains with a prince's true name to secure his place in the fey world.
Brooding, self-centered high fey heir whose true name Saffron discovers, forcing an uneasy alliance between them.
