In my opinion, Pretties was much more exciting than Uglies, and there was a better exploration of the themes the first novel had started to analyze. We also get a deeper understanding of this dystopian world, and Tally has excellent character development. She was totally badass, but by the end, if I read the word bubbly one more time, I was going to throw the book at the wall. Thumbs up for the futuristic brain-damaged teenage slang, though.
