Pretend For Me
A hairdresser takes a pill for her migraines, and the drowsiness that follows ruins a client's cut. The client is Dev Menon, a brooding billionaire, and she leaves him with a side shave worthy of a Marine. He storms out of her salon and threatens to sue.
Hours later he comes back with an offer instead of a lawsuit. His mother's dying wish is to see him married, and the stylist owes him. She is to play his fiancée for a while, and to make it convincing she has to move into his home.
The arrangement puts more at risk than her salon. She sees that her heart is exposed too, so she answers with terms of her own: a purely physical relationship governed by three rules. There is no kissing, no sleepovers and no falling in love. The longer she lives with Dev, the harder the rules are to keep, and even her cat has taken a liking to him.
This is a contemporary fake-engagement romance told in the first person, with a comic, flirtatious tone and a fast start. The physical side of the relationship is part of the story. It is the first book in the Haircuts and Heartthrobs series.
A hairstylist who agrees to a fake engagement to pay off a debt.
