Synopsis

When John Newcomb meets Emily O'Brien and her struggling family, he learns her claim: that his brother married her sister and fathered a child, then abandoned them both. John is certain his brother would never do such a thing, but Christian compassion leads him to intervene regardless. Proud Emily has always resisted charity, but with her loved ones' survival at stake, she must learn that some burdens are meant to be shared — even as she and John find themselves drawn toward each other.
