A successful middle-aged African American woman, Avey Johnson, finds herself at a crossroads during a Caribbean cruise. Impulsively, she disembarks and journeys to the small isle of Carriacou. There, she unexpectedly connects with a past and a vibrant culture that helps her rediscover herself.
