David Wellington is an American horror and science-fiction novelist, born in Pittsburgh in 1971 and based in New York City. He first built an audience by serializing his fiction online before it reached print, beginning with the zombie trilogy Monster Island, Monster Nation and Monster Planet. He went on to write the Laura Caxton vampire novels, which open with 13 Bullets, and the werewolf novels Frostbite and Overwinter, set in the Canadian Arctic.
