Emily Brontë
Emily Jane Brontë (1818-1848) was an English novelist and poet, best known for her only novel, Wuthering Heights (1847), a classic of English literature. The second-eldest of the three surviving Brontë sisters, between Charlotte and Anne, she grew up in the parsonage at Haworth, Yorkshire. She published under the pen name Ellis Bell, first in the 1846 poetry collection shared with her sisters and then with Wuthering Heights. She died of tuberculosis at thirty.
