Peau d'Âme - Tome 1 Les Lilas du Roi

In the golden Palais d'Or, hidden in an enchanted forest in the kingdom of Roncevaux, Princess Blanche d'Ivrée has spent years shut away, mourning her dead mother. When her father announces he will remarry after her own coming-of-age ball, Blanche realizes he never intended to name her his heir.

She can see neither the madness taking hold of him nor the devotion of the man the court calls the King's Fool. As the king's terrible secret comes to light, Blanche will risk everything, even a dangerous magical pact, to escape the trap closing around her, while in a forgotten tower, an imprisoned fairy waits for her chance at revenge. A dark, feminist retelling of Charles Perrault's Donkeyskin.
