Synopsis

After a life-threatening illness, historian Timothy Snyder experienced the American healthcare system firsthand and was shocked by what he found. In this concise and powerful book, he contrasts his care in the U.S. with treatment he received abroad. Snyder makes a direct case that our for-profit medical system is a danger to our health and our democracy.
