Synopsis

Frans de Waal explores the fascinating parallels between humans and our closest primate relatives, the chimpanzee and the bonobo. He argues that while we share the chimpanzee's capacity for aggression and manipulation, our nobler traits like generosity and kindness are mirrored in the peaceful bonobo. This book offers a fresh perspective on human nature, suggesting that our capacity for morality is deeply rooted in our primate heritage.
