Synopsis

A novella set in the Hyperion Cantos universe, following colonists of the Amoiete Spectrum Helix searching for a new world to settle in the years after the events of The Rise of Endymion, who encounter a distress signal along the way. First published in the anthology Far Horizons (1999) and winner of the 2000 Locus Award for Best Novella.
