Once I Was a Beehive

Thirteen-year-old Xanthe is reeling from the sudden death of her mother. Her stepfather, unsure how to help, sends her to a Mormon girls' camp for a week, despite Xanthe not being Mormon herself. Feeling completely out of place and overwhelmed by grief, Xanthe must navigate an unfamiliar world of faith, friendship, and self-discovery while trying to come to terms with her loss.
