Of Fear and Faith

Sanura Williams teaches psychology, and she carries three fears: an ancient prophecy, her own burning magical power, and an old heartbreak. Her guarded life is disrupted when Special Agent Assefa Berber arrives in pursuit of a preternatural serial killer.

Assefa's aura draws the fire spirit inside Sanura and unsettles her at the same time. The attraction is immediate, and she does not know whether to trust it. Her instinct is to keep her distance, yet his intelligent dark eyes and the pull of his presence make that hard.

The world they move through hides more than humans know. Sanura and Assefa have to fight the first creatures the gods made, vile predators that endanger ordinary people. Each bloody clash pulls the two closer together, and each one tests how far she is willing to trust him and herself.

The prophecy names them as the Fire Witch and the Cat of Legend, the pair destined to protect humanity from the Water Witch of Legend. Death, godly magic and mutual desire bind them, and the book turns on whether fear or faith decides where they end up.
