Alan Moore
English comic book writer, born in Northampton in 1953. Best known for Watchmen, V for Vendetta, From Hell, Swamp Thing and Batman: The Killing Joke, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential writers in the history of comics and helped establish the graphic novel as a serious literary form. He has also written prose novels, including Jerusalem and The Great When, and has worked as a performer and occultist.
