Nothing to See Here is a quietly brilliant read that hooked me from the start. The audiobook narrator is excellent and made the whole thing feel immediate, which only amplified how hard it was to put down. Lillian is the kind of protagonist you find yourself rooting for without even trying, and most of the supporting cast are surprisingly likable, which keeps the story warm even when things get strange. The kids are an absolute highlight, easy to want good things for, and they give the book a steady, humane center.
I also liked the tension between Lillian and Madison, it adds a layer of complexity that kept the emotional stakes feeling real instead of sentimental. Kevin Wilson balances oddball premise with genuine feeling, so the weirdness never tips into gimmick. Short, sharp, and quietly moving, this one will stick with me for a while.
