Synopsis

Violet Maxwell is the eldest of three witch sisters in one of New York City's leading magical families, and the supernatural tabloids call her the Dud for the powers she never got. Wolf pack alpha Lincoln Thorne broke her heart a decade ago. Now supernatural law has paired them as mates, and he has five weeks to marry before his thirty-third birthday.

To buy time without defying the law, Violet and Lincoln agree to fake a courtship in front of both their families. Old jokes turn back into old feelings fast. The arrangement gets harder to fake once Violet's magic starts flickering back to life alongside them.

This is the first book in April Asher's Supernatural Singles series, a paranormal romantic comedy built on fake dating and a second-chance reunion. The humor stays quick and the supernatural bureaucracy plays for laughs. The story turns openly sexual once the pretending stops.

Old family secrets and a threat to the Maxwells keep the stakes from staying purely romantic. The mood stays light. Two people who already know exactly what they lost get a more honest second try.
