Synopsis
Jet Mason has spent her life keeping people at arm's length, drifting between half-finished plans and a family she loves but doesn't quite trust. Then someone tries to kill her, leaving her with a traumatic brain injury and a doctor's devastating verdict: without emergency surgery, she has seven days left to live. The surgery would save her life but wipe her short-term memory, taking with it any hope of remembering who attacked her.
So Jet makes an impossible choice: she delays the operation to spend her final week finding her own killer before he tries again, racing against a body that is failing her a little more each day. With her childhood best friend Billy as her only ally, she works back through her tangled relationships with her siblings, an ex she never stopped loving, and secrets her family has kept for years, knowing that whoever hurt her is still out there, and may already suspect she's looking.
From the author of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Not Quite Dead Yet is a high-concept, propulsive thriller that turns amateur detection into a literal race against death, filtered through Holly Jackson's sharp eye for family dysfunction and misdirection.
