Nightshade

The Doctor and Ace arrive in the village of Crook Marsham in 1968, where the Doctor quietly contemplates retirement. Nearby, at a local care home, Edmund Trevithick — who once played the character Nightshade in a Doctor Who serial — begins to see other fictional characters from the program as if they were real. As the Doctor investigates a string of unexplained deaths and the apparitions haunting the village, he must decide whether to stay or let Ace face the future without him.
