I made the mistake of starting off with the show that recently was released so I did not get that first time feeling. But despite that I enjoyed the book as a lover of cats. The TV show does a good job but the book gives little tidbits that the show doesn't. I would have loved some more character development but I did not get that in this book. Since I am a lover of cats the cats are loveable however the other characters do not get much development during the book.
