New Spring: The Graphic Novel adapts Robert Jordan's prequel to The Wheel of Time, set some twenty years before The Eye of the World. In the final days of the Aiel War, the Aes Sedai camped outside Tar Valon receive news that sends two young Accepted, Moiraine Damodred and Siuan Sanche, onto a secret path: a Foretelling that the Dragon has been born again on the slopes of Dragonmount.
Moiraine, newly raised to Aes Sedai, begins a quiet and dangerous search for the infant, unsure whom in the White Tower she can trust. Her journey crosses that of al'Lan Mandragoran, the uncrowned king of Malkier, a warrior who has fought the Shadow all his life and expects to die doing it. The story shows how the two meet and how the bond between Aes Sedai and Warder begins.
The adaptation is written by Chuck Dixon, who worked with Jordan on it, and illustrated by Mike S. Miller and Harvey Tolibao. Tor's 2011 collection gathers the eight full-color issues first released between 2005 and 2010, along with developmental art, script pages and correspondence between Jordan and Dixon.
