I loved the book so much, it's probably one of my favorite novels so far. Castle Rock stories are always so fascinating to me, this town is just so messed up on its own that even a small thing can make it all go so wrong.
Besides the town itself, the antagonist of this story, Leland Gaunt, was also such a fascinating creature to me. He immediately reminded me of Randal Flagg. In my opinion, he could be an incarnation of Flagg because they have many characteristics, powers, and goals in common.
I loved the few main characters of this book, I quickly got so attached to Alan and Polly. I was so sure at least one of them was a goner, so the ending was a pleasant surprise. I also thought Norris and Seat wouldn't survive, but it made me so happy to see they did. On the other hand, I thought Brian would live and...
For most of the other characters, it's crazy but I grew to hate even those that I liked in the beginning because of what they were willing to do for their "possessions". I know it was all because of Gaunt and the power he had over them, but a few managed to break free, so they could have too and (to make it all worse) they almost did, they ALL had moments they started to realize the truth but they loved the lie too much (again, I know this was also a part of Gaunt's power over them but I was rooting for these characters so hard to break free, but they failed). I must say though, a few of them deserved their ending.
