NARUTO -ナルト- イタチ真伝 暗夜篇

Naruto: Itachi Shinden - Ankoku Hen (Dark Night Chapter) is a manga adaptation of the Itachi Shinden light novel, part of the broader Naruto franchise by Masashi Kishimoto. It fills in Itachi Uchiha's backstory before the events of the main series.

Itachi and his sworn friend Shisui take on a mission to assassinate a spy who has infiltrated the village, working toward earning a place in the Anbu Black Ops. As the rivalry between the Uchiha clan and the village leadership grows more dangerous, Itachi loses Shisui, his closest friend, and is left disillusioned with both the clan he was born into and the village he swore to protect.

The volume builds toward the tragic choices that shape Itachi into the character seen in the main Naruto story, exploring loyalty, sacrifice, and the cost of protecting a village that does not trust him.
