This book is full of clichés. And it doesn't really do a very accurate job of portraying depression and suicidal ideation. It kind of presents it as " hope some mysterious and also suicidal boy will come save you from yourself" which honestly really won't help much if you're actually suicidal. All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven does a better job of dealing with mental illness and suicide.
