Synopsis

Mrityunjay is the first book in the Maha-Asura Series by Parakh Om Bhatt and Raj Javiya, a mythological spiritual thriller published by Penguin/Ebury Press in 2024. Not to be confused with Shivaji Sawant's Marathi classic about Karna, this is an original contemporary adventure that opens with the mysterious death of archaeologist Sudhir Arya and his grandson Vivaan's plunge into a thousand-year-old secret.

Spanning present-day India, the 1026 CE sack of the Somnath temple by Mahmud Ghaznavi, a fifth-century awakening of kundalini by the yogi Matsyendranath, and the mythic age of Satyuga, the novel fuses Indian mythology, Vedic lore, and archaeological mystery into a propulsive, multi-timeline thriller about identity and cosmic destiny.

Recommended for readers of Indian mythological fiction, spiritual thrillers, and fast-paced adventures rooted in Hindu history and legend.
