The history of Palestine and Palestinians is widely known by most Arabs, or so we think. Personally this is the first time that I learned about what happened in details: the Nakbah, the refugee camps, the massacre of Sabra and Shatila, the intifadha etc... and in the midst, the life of Palestinians, the suffering, the loss, the hope, the immigrants, those who escaped and those who still hope to return, also the absolute ignorance of the world towards Palestine. I learned so much, I found a new love for Palestine, a disgust towards the world leaders who found the holocaust shameful but deny the suffering of Palestinians. This book is so far the best historical fiction I've read!
