The first book of this series I've read; Lynley reminded me a lot of Sayers' Whimsey, the theme of the book recalls Mike Lee's and Ken Loach's movies and the setting that of Agatha Christie's marplian english countryside. All in all, it was very interesting, not just as a whoddunit, but as a book about human relationships, especially parental ones. The only glitch was that being the sixth book of the series, I had occasionally the feeling I had entered in a room in the middle of a conversation that had started long ago.
