Synopsis

Miss Kane's Christmas opens Caroline Mickelson's Christmas Central romantic comedies. Carol Claus agrees to her father's request and leaves the North Pole on a mission with three days to run: save Christmas for one family. The family belongs to Ben Hanson, a single father — and, as Santa neglects to mention until she has already accepted, the author of Beyond Bah Humbug: Why Lying to Your Children about Santa Claus is a Bad Idea.

Under the name Miss Kane, Carol takes the post of nanny to Ben's children and sets about showing them, and him, what the holiday can be. Ben's resistance turns out to have a reason behind it, and the novella's charm is in how gently it is unpicked.

Short, sweet, and clean, it is a holiday comfort read rather than a demanding one.
