Miss Iceland
Synopsis
In 1960s Iceland, Hekla dreams of becoming a writer, a challenging ambition for a woman in a society steeped in poetic tradition but limited in opportunity. She moves to Reykjavík with her manuscript, finding kinship with her gay friend Jon, who also struggles against societal constraints. As the world around them slowly changes, Hekla realizes she must seek freedom and artistic expression beyond her homeland, whatever the personal cost.
