Tanja Lucic, a literature professor in Amsterdam and a Yugoslav exile, teaches a class of fellow exiles who work in a sweatshop. She encourages her students to explore their 'Yugonostalgia' through essays about their homeland's collapse. This academic rebellion sparks conflict with one student and draws her dangerously close to another, escalating the already tense realities of her life in exile.
