Synopsis

A new mother in New York is drowning in exhaustion and depression after childbirth, her world shrinking to the confines of her apartment and her infant. She grapples with protective instincts and disturbing thoughts, questioning how she lost herself. Her only connection to the outside world is a kind elderly neighbor, but even his existence seems uncertain as strange occurrences begin to plague her home. Szilvia Molnar is a writer born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1984 and raised in southern Sweden after her family emigrated there around 1989. She has worked for nearly two decades in publishing, most recently as foreign rights director at the literary agency Sterling Lord Literistic, and now lives in Austin, Texas.
