Synopsis

Marin Cole has spent her life avoiding risk. Since her journalist mother died in a helicopter crash, she has built a small, careful existence in Tennessee — no oceans, no mountains, no love worth losing. Her sister Sadie is her opposite: reckless, restless, and convinced Marin is wasting the only life she has.

When Sadie proposes a sisters' getaway to the Caribbean island of Saba, Marin reluctantly agrees. Then Sadie deliberately misses the flight, leaving Marin stranded in paradise with an itinerary of adventures she never would have chosen and Lucas Tsai, the resort owner Sadie recruited to pull her out of her shell. Lucas, grieving his own father, agrees to the scheme without expecting to fall for the woman at the center of it.

As Marin cliff-dives, swims with sharks, and finally lets someone in, Sadie is quietly facing a health crisis she has kept from her sister. Libby Hubscher's debut is a romance that turns into a story about grief, courage, and the sister who loved you enough to push.
