Synopsis

Despite a farmer's doubts, young Marco believes that McElligot's Pool might hold more than meets the eye. He spends his time imagining the incredible and fantastical fish that could be swimming beneath the surface. This rhyming tale celebrates the power of imagination and optimism.

Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to German-American parents. He attended public schools and then went to Dartmouth College, where he became editor of the Dartmouth _Jack-O-Lantern_. When he was barred from all extracurricular activities, he continued to write for the paper using the pseudonym "Seuss."
