Éric Holder (1960–2019) was a French novelist and short-story writer, born in Lille. Across some thirty books he wrote short, spare fiction about ordinary and fragile lives, including L'Homme de chevet (1995), Mademoiselle Chambon (1996) and Bienvenue parmi nous (1998), all three of which were adapted for the cinema.
