Synopsis

Auchenmullan is barely a village anymore—forty-seven souls left in the perpetual shadow of a mountain, a dead mill, and one grim landmark: a solitary grave at the summit reading 'MAGGIE WALL BURIED HERE AS A WITCH.' In 1657, a mob murdered an innocent woman as a witch and stole her child; dying, she cursed them. For centuries the curse has slept.

In 2019, four of the town's teenagers—Beth, Grady, Steve, and Alice—hike up to see the grave, and something ancient and blood-hungry wakes. Maggie has returned to reclaim 'her baby,' and she will carve through the whole village to get it. Told largely through Beth's eyes, David Sodergren's Maggie's Grave is a gruesome, fast, folk-horror slasher about false accusation, revenge, and the secrets parents keep.
