Synopsis

Born in South India, she moved to Canada at the age of three, studied creative writing at York University, and has worked as a teacher in Toronto. Her debut novel Saints and Misfits, about a Muslim teenager confronting an assault by a well-regarded member of her mosque community, won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Young Adult Literature and was a finalist for the William C.
