Synopsis

Joan Bennet would much rather read a book than hunt for a husband, but her parents are about to force her into a marriage with a dreadfully boring peer. Desperate to escape, she decides that staging a public scandal is her best option. Tristan Burke, Lord Hallworth, has the opposite problem: he needs a respectable wife immediately to secure his inheritance. When the sharp-tongued Joan and the notorious rake collide, their clashing plans spark an unexpected attraction that could ruin them both.
