Synopsis

The body of Ana Belén Liaño, Inspector Unai López de Ayala's first girlfriend, is found murdered — burned, hanged and submerged in a Bronze Age cauldron, the same brutal method used in an ancient water ritual. As Kraken races to stop a killer who is recreating 2,600-year-old ceremonies at sacred sites across the Basque Country and Cantabria, targeting expectant mothers, his own life becomes entangled in the case: sub-commissioner Alba Díaz de Salvatierra is pregnant, and a doubt over the child's paternity threatens to put Kraken himself on the killer's list. The second installment of the White City Trilogy.
